A bit off topic, but if you know of somebody who is interested in = relocating to Gainesville, FL, right now there are three openings for = Technology Lab instructors in middle schools and one of a Media = Specialist in a rural community school (about 300 students) The tech lab openings are all in middle schools. These are set up in = modules and kids learn about robotics, hydraulics, multimedia, desktop = publishing, audio, some TV. The state of FL is currently requiring = Industrial Arts (shop) certification for these jobs, but there are = changes in the making that will make it easier for people to obtain = certification if you know the subject matter. Individuals with no state = certification can obtain temporary certificates while they work on = courses. A media specialist who is into technology might find this = attractive. The Media job is in an elementary school near Gainesville.=20 Gainesville is where the University of Florida is located, so = opportunities for professional development are available. Unfortunately, = our county has the dubious honor of being among the lowest in pay in the = state of Florida - but the cost of living is relatively low, so maybe = things even out at the end... The URL for the job postings for the district is http://www.sbac.edu/~hrjobs/instructional_vacancies.html and for the application process instructions http://www.sbac.edu/~hrjobs/ If you want any extra information, feel free to contact me.
