Hello all, A couple of you took the time to let me know that my request yesterday afternoon for survey question advice came through on your end as unreadable. Thank you and my apologies to all! I'm not quite sure how that happened- may have been a combination of my district's Outlook web access and a public terminal in a college library. Anyway- now that I've moved and re-joined you using my new home e-mail address, let me try my post again... I'm hoping you can suggest some good questions to ask in a staff survey. I am interested in assessing teacher attitudes and practices regarding the role and value of the school library and its staff in promoting literacy. A bit of background that may or may not influence your advice- my student population is kindergarten students only! I'm in the "capstone" class of my Master's program- the one where you begin the dreaded process of writing your final paper, thesis or portfolio. My area of investigation is the role of the Media Program and Media Specialist in aiding their youngest patrons (specifically kindergarteners) with their literacy development. I'm not finding much specifically discussing programming for that age group. Any search terms, research studies, articles, and/or books that might help me out would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
