re: importance of ALA accredited degree


LM_NET....so what states do require an ALA accredited degree for school
librarianship positions?  I know there are also several that require you
to have taught so many years in the classroom before they qualify you for
a librarians's postion also.   I think that would be useful info for many
LM_NETters.   Just as knowing there are presently 14 states that will not
let teachers collect Social Security if they have taught...and are in
their States pensions systems.... those states are
Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, Louisiana,
Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, Massachusetts, Maine and
