I am working at the public library this summer and I just had a patron come to me looking for a book title and author. He read the book while substitute teaching about 4 years ago so the book wouldn't be any newer then 1999. The story is set in North Carolina during World War I. A little girl goes off with her father in search of a Christmas tree. The story mentions the Tweetsie Railroad. Any guesses? I would appreciate any help I could get, and so would this patron.
