My first book, Information Skills Toolkit: Collaborative Integrated
Instruction for the Middle Grades (Linworth, 2000) has 49 lessons that
are organized by subject areas, including social studies/history,
science, health, math, language arts, the arts, home ec/personal &
family living, and basic skills. Each lesson then lists curricular
connections indicating other subject areas with potential ties to the
lesson. The book's introductory materials discusses building
collaborations with subject area teachers. A section of the book is
devoted to assessment and another section focuses on a project approach
to learning that is hands on and inquiry-based.
