I don't know if this is going to be successful, but... I bought a used time clock from e-bay for $9.99 (of course, add another $20 for shipping), and bought a pack of 250 time cards for $6.29 (Office Max). I will simply "issue" 5 or so time cards to each teacher with their name on it, replaceable as necessary. I may number them 1 through 5 for each teacher so a student will know which one they have at that time. Then, students will bring one with them when they come, clock in upon arrival & clock out upon leaving. This gives me an idea of how long they are in the media center, & the teacher gets an idea of how much time passed between classroom & media center. I had a great idea of using some old card pockets to "keep" the cards in while the kids are here, but they are too narrow. Still have to solve this problem!
