HIT: Inappropriate elem AR books

I recently asked for books that elementary school librarians had =
received as Accelerated Reader titles but considered them to be =
inappropriate for elementary students. These books have low reading =
levels but may contain sexual themes or references to violence or =
inappropriate language. Thanks to all who responded. The titles they =
sent are listed below.=20

The Payback by James Vanoosting
'The Cat who....." series by Lillian Braun
The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
The Bomb by Theodore Taylor=20
Nightjohn by Gary Paulsen=20

Just a reminder that Accelerated Reader is not a selection tool but a =
program. Several librarians sent the reminder that each librarian must =
decide what is appropriate for his/her library.=20
