Dear Barb: Try this it might work. When I worked in Caldor's and we wanted to remove the paid stickers off of returned merchandis we took a hot blow dryer and blew heat on the gummed paid stickers and then they pulled right off. Hope it works. > Today I was in school working with my library coordinator and we went >through all the class sets so we could add to the numbers since our >enrollment keeps growing. In our "travels," we found that someone who taught >reading, kept track of who had which book by putting those white gummed >labels on the front covers of the books and having the students write their >names. We were mortified to say the least! It would have made alot more sense >to just assign a numbered book to each student and keep a list since the >books were already numbered. > > Short of putting a blank label over these and stamping the school name >on them, what would be the best method to remove them? Many of the books are >Permabound. There are a few paperbacks, but we will probably use the stick >and stamp method on those. > >THANKS for all the answers (before I get them---I have lots of confidence in >this group! LOL!!) You can send them to me at my address below. > >Barb Shapiro >Schnzrsgrl@aol.com >Monroe Twp. Schools >Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 Bernardine E. Lowery-Crute, School Library Media Specialist Dr. Roland N.
