Mid: Change to from ELem

Hi group----

The stress of the unknown has gone from whether I will have a job, to I =
am moving from doing 2 elementary libraries to doing 2 middle school =
libraries.  ((I am one of the budget cuts you hear about in Oregon, =
there will be no elem librarians in the Gresham-Barlow SD.))

Can anyone who is doing to MS libraries (around 600 pop/ea) what a MS =
library program would/should look like????

I have gone to the archives. I have gone to google search.  I am only 3 =
years from PSU library program.

BUT......I still have NO idea what I will be walking into.    Both =
schools have had long-term librarians who have retired when the position =
went from FT to PT this coming year.  I am rapidly reading MS level =
novels (this move is not by choice---I still want to be elem, so I am =
using the summer for playing catch up.)

1.  What services do you provide to the students?
2.  What type of rules do you have that I should know about?  (Already =
got several off of the internet, but different, or confirming is also =
good.)
3.  What services do you provide to the teachers?
4.  What will I be doing?? all day??  (I am used to teaching 44 classes =
each week--with NO time for admin of the library)
5.  What in the world should I know???

Thank you.  I am trying to get a clue here before I meet with Principals =
in the next couple of weeks.
