I am a new subscriber to the LM Net, and am finding many useful ideas = for when I become a school library media specialist. I have taught high = school social studies, but now am working full time in graduate school = to obtain my certification in Library Science. The other day in one of = my classes, we were discussing how some middle and high school students = who read well below grade level often feel embarrassed to read simple = picture books because all of their friends are reading chapter books. I = was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions for books that = are on a simpler reading level, but are about topics that would appeal = to older students. Thanks for your help.
