What do you do when you catch a student tampering with computer files? I'm
talking more mischievous than malicious...the kind of tampering that doesn't
actually damage the computer. I have had three specific incidents this
year: all the icons disappeared from the desktop; none of the icons on the
desktop would work...when you clicked on one, the startup menu popped up;
and posting a challenge message on the startup screen so that it appears
before Windows launches. All three incidents were caused by the same
student. We do not have Fortress or similar program to secure our machines.
