In an effort to update and upgrade our district policy manual, we are looking for information on magazine (for kids) and journal (for librarian and staff) subscription numbers. This would be for Elementary, Jr./MS, and High School levels. If your district has set some standards or guidelines, could you send information to me? Pointing to online resources will work also, of course. Rationales for those numbers (accreditation, ALA recommendation, etc) would be helpful also. Any notes about use of on-line (subscription or not) resources to either supplement or replace will also be appreciated. I will post a hit early April, Thank you Robert Eiffert, Librarian at Image Elementary www.ima.egreen.wednet.edu/library.html Library BLog www.crypticmachinery.com beiffert@attbi.com -----Original Message----- From: School Library Media & Network Communications [mailto:LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU] On Behalf Of Terri Brantz Sent: Monday, March 25, 2002 11:30 AM To: LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU Subject: Trivia Hunt/Scavenger Hunt Ideas? Hello, Fellow LM-ers! Just wondering-- does anyone have a great site out there with ideas for trivia contests, maybe some research ideas, for having a secondary-level library contest during National School Libraries Month? I'm sure there must be a wealth of info out there-- please let me know if you know of something. I was thinking about things like "famous first lines", matching authors to first novels, maybe some rather obscure research questions to dig up answers, etc. Suggestions? Thanks!
