TARGET: SEC: Opinions on the effectiveness of requiring Senior Research Papers

Dear LM-Netters,

We are checking into the possibility of requiring each senior to do a
research paper before they graduate.  I would like to talk to or get
emails from some library media specialists who will give me their PERSONAL
OPINIONS about how they feel about them.  Are they effective?  What are
the pitfalls?  Advantages/Disadvantages?  Would you recommend doing them?
Etc.....

I can always count on you all to be honest and share the inside scoop on
any library topic.  It helps hearing from people who have "been there,
done that!"
