Subject: New York State Bill: Consolidation of Book Funds
I got this alert from N.Y.C. School Librarian Assoc.
We need help of all librarians in N.Y.S.
There is a  proposal before the legislature which proposes the consolidation
of state book funds into ONE "pot" of money. The principal of each school
would decide how much money is allocated for textbooks, software and library
materials.
Please write your assemblyman and senator to advise him/her to amend this
bill and keep the libraries monies separate from other school instructional
materials.

Find names of your state assemblyperson at www.assembly.state.ny.us/mem
find names of your state senate www.senate.state.ny.us.
The bill numbers are Assembly  (A# 7349A) and Senate (S#3714A).
