A teacher asked me about this today, and I haven't been able to come up with an answer. Does anyone know of a special type of dictionary or perhaps a writer's guide that offers descriptive words? For instance, if you wanted to describe a prairie you could look it up and get words that you could use to describe a prairie. I'm not looking for synonyms, but rather descriptors.
