Dear 'Netters:

I realize that my subject line may have appealed to many of you for the wrong
reasons. No, Harry Potter will not be playing with Barbie anytime soon! I
just had two popular culture characters to share with the group!

First, Harry Potter - I was lucky enough to be able to take my family to a
screening of The Chamber of Secrets last weekend and we all loved it! The
latest installment is very exciting, scary at times, but just wonderful! I
also think that putting some distance between my having read the book and
watching the movie made me enjoy the movie more and did not make me miss
seeing some of the colorful details that have been left out. My kids (who
have reread each of the books at least 6 times) also really loved the film
but they were more annoyed than I about leaving out some of the details. I
think that the running time is approximately 2 hr. & 45 minutes (not leaving
much room for those extra details), but no one got up to go to the bathroom
or felt that they were sitting for too long a time. Have fun with Harry and
crew!

On to Barbie. My youngest daughter was visiting the Barbie website on a day
off from school and discovered a poll that was asking to name a new career
for Barbie. Among the 3 choices were: an architect, a police officer and you
guessed it, a librarian! Well, you are all entitled to your own vote so I
thought that I would pass along the address to cast your vote!

I don't know about you, but I think that I can picture it now. Barbie is
behind a stack of books, busy at her computer with a lineup of kids and
faculty that all want her attention right now, but she never looks ruffled,
she just looks fabulous! Isn't that what we all look like anyway?! I sure
hope that Ken gets a makeover too, he'll be the technology support guy!

Have fun with Harry & Barbie!
