Thanks to everyone that sent me information. I was able to print a list of schools
that were considered Division 1 for football. The student was very pleased. Thanks
again. -Jessica

Original post:
A student asked for a list of Division 1 schools today. I did a quick search online
and
didn't come up with anything. Does anyone know where I can find this information?
-----------------

Try this link to the NCAA. It will make lists based on what sport you
are interested in.
https://goomer.ncaa.org/ows-bin/rwcgi60?p_sport_division

A Division I school in one sport is not always a D I school in all sports. Duquesne
University in Pittsburgh is a D I Men's basketball school, but not in football.
Try the
NCAA website, but I have not been there.

You can probably search www.ncaa.org and get that information.
It is usually listed by sport, however.

Try this:
http://www.ncaa.com/conferences/index.html
or
http://www.chap.com/ncaa1am.htm

I didn't find an easy list to print out, but I did find stats and a list of all of
the schools
in a drop down menu. I went to www.ncaa.org and used the site map.
I eventually chose member institutions, and all the names appeared in the drop
down.
I hope you found something easier, but just in case.... This names 321 as the total
of Div. 1 schools.

Go to http://www.ncaa.org/sponsorships/ where you can search by division and sport
or try the World Almanac.

Did you try http://www.ncaa.org/?

If you are referring to college athletics, go to www.ncaa.org, then go to the site
index. Under each sport it has a sponsoring list by division. It changes depending
on
the sport, but there is a list of schools who are strictly Division 1 for all
sports. Hope
this helps

Try the guidance office or Athletic director.

The only help I can give you is that the schools who play in division I change
depending on the particular sport. As an example, the University of North Dakota is
Division I in hockey, but Division II in other sports.
