I appreciate all of the responses I received concerning job =
description/evaluation for Library Media Specialists. Due to illness, it =
has taken me some time to post this HIT. Some of the responses sent =
were:

1. CDE's Library page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/library/ and then finding =
"Assessing Your School Library" which contains a=20
checklist to self-evaluate the library. This was suggested by Kathy =
Graves.

2. Lois Smits suggested trying =
http://www.sldirectory.com/libsf/resf/evaluate.html.=20

3. Missi Baker suggested the use of evaluations in Kentucky at:
     http://kde.state.ky.us/oet/customer/lmsvillage/html/lms.eval.asp=20

4. Here is one from North Carolina submitted by Jo Anne Collins:
     http://tps.dpi.state.nc.us/drafts/MCPAIDraft021802.html

multimedia, and electronic resources to support the=20
school's curriculum and to meet the diverse learning needs =
of students.

and procedures for cataloging, processing, organizing,
            and circulating library materials.

using print information from print and electronic
            resources.

which students and staff can work productively.
       h. Works with teachers to promote resource-based learning =
(learning which results from the use of multiple =20
resources) and information literacy (skills of information =
problem-solving).
       i. Maintains accurate records and completes required reports of =
inventory holdings, financial transactions, and
            circulation statistics.

Another excellent job description was submitted by Jeanne Claridge, =
