I am the librarian at an elementary school - grades 3-5. The primary school is grades K-2. We are looking for a book on using appropriate language (choice of words kids use--eg. no swearing) or about good manners. Each homeroom would receive a copy of the title. The teacher would read it to the class, then each child would take it home for one night to read and share with the family. Also a list of questions would be sent home with the book for the family to discuss. So the book needs to be short enough to be read in one night (probably a picture book format). We would like the interest level to be K-5. If this is not possible we may need to choose two different books; one for 3-5, and one for K-2. Some titles suggested so far are: Madeline Says Merci by John Bemelmans Marciano, Perfect Pigs by Marc Brown, Elbert's Bad Word by Audrey Wood and The Grumpling by Stephen Cosgrove. We would appreciate any suggestions you may have. Please let me know if the title would be good for K-5, 3-5 or K-2. Thank you for your help.
