School Library Media Activities Monthly

Dear LM_NETTERS:

       I am a new librarian in a K-5 elementary library. Is School Library
Media Activities Monthly a good resource for a librarian just starting out?

       This is my first position and I have a very limited periodical budget.
The periodical budget is currently used for the students. Next year I plan on
dropping some of the periodicals we currently subscribe to.

       We do not currently subscribe to any professional periodicals for
educators. I would like to order some periodicals for the teachers and the
library.

       What other professional periodicals do you recommend for educators?
How can I get more funding for next year in my budget for periodicals?
