I have searched and searched the archives for this information but cannot =
come up with anything. My middle school is making (in my humble opinion) =
an exciting change within the Accelerated Reader program. Rather than =
focusing on and rewarding students for points earned, we are focusing on =
rewarding for percentage of goal met. This way, the low readers can =
obtain the same incentives as the high readers - a great way to ensure =
equality amongst students.

However, what this also means is that we will be giving out many more =
incentives. We are looking for freebie incentives that we can give the =
students, such as a free hall pass, a free tardy pass, a free day to set =
his/her own schedule, etc. We are doing this not only to conserve money, =
but to also shy away from the materialism of the program. I know there =
are many things you can give away for free for elementary students, but =
middle schoolers are a tougher crowd. Any ideas? Thank you so much!
