My two cents worth, I think there is a strong argument for putting reading level indicators at the back of books. Students can learn to determine reading levels on their own (with assistance from educators -if needed). When children (or others) who are developing their reading abilities pick up a book, they could begin determining by whatever criteria or whim whether they want to read that book. Since they are learning how to, among other things, determine reading levels, any information we might want to give them should be included at the back of the book for their reference -if needed.
