This morning I read the thread about sales reps just showing up. That
doesn't happen here too often, but one just left. I think I'm going to see
if we can't get a school policy that keeps cold calls out.

I've done direct sales work, and I know that cold calls are often
necessary. However, I always tried to avoid calling at busy times, and I
always asked if it was convenient to talk at that time. If the answer was
"no" I left immediately.

Perhaps if we all complained to the home offices of the reps that bother us
we may get them to leave us alone.

Of course, my "favorite" people are the ones who telephone and want me to
order something over the phone, sight unseen.
