What happens when these students go to the next level? Is that library
arranged the same way? If not then it will be like they never used a
library before and that librarian will have to unteach what you taught
and then reteach universally accepted library structure.
It must be very hard to shelve the books unless you have them marked as
to where they go. If not then no one can help to shelve the books.
I have all of the Easy Fiction arranged in ABC order by author's last
name. I look it up for the kids on the computer and then tell them the
last name and what letter to look for. They don't seem to have a
problem.
I do have a display with all of the Caldecott winners but the rest of
the books are in the normal order.
I have the non-fiction books divided into 2 groups: Non-Fiction and E
Non-Fiction. Works perfectly.
