I couldn't find a place called Crispin Bay (I also tried St. Crispin), but
there was a Franklin Expedition. They were searching for the Northwest
Passage. Recent evidence points to lead poisoning causing the deaths of
the members of the crew. Owen Beattie and John Geiger wrote a book about
it called Buried in Ice: the mystery of a lost Arctic expedition.
