Along the same lines, I'm interested in history fact
of the day websites or print resource to use with my
morning news show at my elementary school next year.
I've done a little searching already but haven't found
what I'm looking for yet. This year, my first year at
this school, we have totally changed the news program
format and it now includes the lunch menu (read by
Chef Caviar who wears a chef apron and hat and holds a
big silver pot and wooden spoon) and the weather
report (given by Meteorologist Sunny Rains who wears a
navy sports coat and points to the weather board with
various information) along with the regular
announcements from the adminstrator and the teachers.
Next year I would like to add a historian to briefly
tell something that happened on that day in history.
I'm looking for basic history facts (EX: Our president
George W. Bush was born on this day in 19XX or In 19XX
on this day World War II ended) as well as fun, more
humorous type facts (EX: On this day in 19XX, the
first box of Crayola Crayons was produced.) And if
anyone is feeling creative and can suggest a catchy
name and/or costume for the historian character,
please share! I'll be glad to post a hit with history
fact websites.
