Dear All, I got a look at a new magazine for elementary and children's librarians and I think many of us might be interested in it. It is a real winner- something for everyone. What makes this different from much of the current magazines available for us is that it's similar to a make-it-and-take-it workshop. There are ideas you can use right away. I can imagine how helpful it could be to those of you who just starting out as I found lots of ideas to use myself. It is from Upstart and called Library Sparks. The format is similar to the Frank Schaefer magazines with lots of printouts, activities, and ideas for use in your media program. Information is at: http://www.librarysparks.com Some of the things included in the August/September issue are: ready made library lessons, curriculum connections, storytelling activities, crafts, meet the author pages, a book activities section, freebies or inexpensive downloads, a monthly bulletin board and a monthly activity calendar. There's also a column on the new HP by people at the CCBC.
