Re: Alliance Plus or Marc Magician?

I need some quick advice. Our three new county elementary schools are
automating but will not be asking Follett to send the marc records. There is
no certified librarian; they are using clerks (in the past they have used
parents and the principal). I must meet with them tomorrow to offer advice
on getting things going. They will use cards mostly this year until the
software is installed and records are prepared. Our tech is wanting to
purchase a software product to speed the process along. Should I recommend
to our tech person to get Alliance or Marc magician (or some other tool) for
marc records since they will be doing the conversion themselves? I don't
have either, so I am limited on what to advise them; the records that  I
don't get from the book companies, I find on the internet. Any
recommendations?

I consider myself a newbie, so I wanted to call on the experts.

Also, are there any other recommendations I can give them to get their new
libraries ready?
