Thanks to everyone who sent along suggested titles. I have posted [in
brackets] information on availability, according to Amazon, although some of
the out-of-print may be found used. If people have additional titles,
please send them on!

....

There's a series called "...Adventures in Alphabet Town". Such as "A's
Adventures in Alphabet Town". Another series is "My (letter Book", such as
"My a Book". I used them with my pre-k class last year. I moved up to
kindergarten this year and they have asked me to read them again!

[Note: These books are out of print]

....

Pamela Duncan Edwards writes books using alliteration.

Titlesare:

Some Smug Slug

Four Famished Foxes and Fosdyke

Clara Caterpillar

Rosie's Roses

The Worrywarts.

.......

There is a series of books, one for each letter, by Jane B. Moncure (My
"___" sound box), where the character puts lots of objects in his/her sound
box, which begin with the title letter.

[Note: Amazon says these books are out of prin but someone wrote that
Follett still sells them.]

.........
Another series is the "Wonder Books" (Child's World ), which includes each
letter, the short and long vowels, as well as some blends (ch, sh, th,
wh...). Author include Alice Flanagan, Robert Noyed, Peg Ballard and Cynthia
Klingel.

[Note: Many out of print or out-of-stock but Amazon has lots of them used
for sale (do a search under Publisher: Child's World")

Publisher info: Childs World Book Publishers Inc, (952) 906-3939, Po Box
326, Chanhassen, MN 55317]

....

AlphaTales by Scholastic is a reading program that includes a book for each
letter of the alphabet. You can buy the books separately. My kids love
listening for the words that start with the letter of the day.

...

The Berenstain Bear's B book would be great for B.

.....

Our library has the series "See it. Say it. Hear it." It was published
by ABDO Publishing, and the ISBN for the Z book is 1-57765-446-3.

The teachers and kids really enjoy this set, which not only covers
individual letters, one per book, but also covers different sounds and
letter pairs (th, sh, for example).

[I searched for this under amazon; the publisher that came up was
Sandcastle, which is an imprint of ABDO, but I couldn't find these books]

........

we like Elmer the patchwork elephant for E, and Brown Bear, Brown Bear for
B, and there is a book called The Worrywarts which is almost all W sounds.

...............

There's a Dinorella book for the letter D. It's not GREAT literature
but the kids enjoyed it. I was introduced to it through a Scholastic
book fair preview a few years ago. Sorry I don't have author or even
the complete title. Dinorella might be it.

.....

[ Books that don't quite fit the category but can be used..]

I just did a quick scan of my children's book shelves here at home and
found a few (better quality literature) that might work if she's not a
purest and is willing to work a little on the "find the letters" aspect
of her lesson.
For example: "T" Freight Train by Donald Crews "Train runs across
this Track. ...Tunnels....Trestles....

"M" More, More, More Said the Baby by Vera Williams

"B" Big Black Bear by Wong Herbert Yee (great for manners, too!)

"C" The City Mouse and the Country Mouse. (Oh boy the /s/ and the /k/
sounding Cs.....)

"P" Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse by Henkes !!!
