I have just returned from the NCTE conference with dozens of beautiful, inviting free advance reader's copies of soon-to-be-published books. I'd like to offer them to the students, though I don't want to put them in my permanent collection. How would you handle this? I am considering using a temporary barcode so I can keep track of the books as they are borrowed, then pitching the free copies when they become available for purchase. How would you handle this? Thanks.
