Hello:

I am a school library representative on the ALA Rural School, Public,
and Tribal Libraries Task Force. Our charge is to develop specific
recommendations to the ALA Council on how AL=C5 can provide more support
for the librarians working in rural settings. To gather a wide range of
comments, a survey has been developed and is posted under the link
"Survey of Rural Librarians" at www.ala.org/rural/. If you are a rural
librarian in a school, public, or tribal library, please complete the
survey and fax it to ALA as noted in the survey instructions.

To make the survey more than just statistics, send stories that
illustrate your experiences while working in a rural school, public, or
Tribal library. The Task Force will make sure the stories are forwarded
to the ALA Public Information Office.

Thank you for helping us provide more support to librarians working in
rural areas.
