Gen: InterLibrary loans

Dear Lm-netters,
  I am in a small, relatively new Catholic school in
Florida. Our library collection is now coming up to
speed and I am interested in participating in
interlibrary loans. I know about sunlink for public
schools in Florida but can anyone in private schools
give me an idea of how to get started? Also, are
interlibrary loans worth the extra
time/trouble/expense?
