I replied to Mary directly and then I thought maybe others would like to know that Jan Brett has Library Signs at http://www.janbrett.com/library_signs/library_signs_main.htm I wanted different wording on my signs and also different colors for different sections of the library. We're K-6 and the color coding helps the little guys. To do this I just right clicked over the picture that I wanted and saved it to my hard drive. Then I open the pictures from Microsoft Publisher (any word processing or photo editor would work.) and put my text over the one on the page. This also allows you to change the font and size of the text which was great. And Jan Brett's pictures look so cute. I put them into clear acrylic frames and they look great. Printing them on photo paper or laminating them would also give you the professional shiny look of purchased isgns. I have not seen anything exactly like this in catalogs. I did find this useful thing online but it is at the college level and would have to be translated to be intelligible to elementary students. http://snoopy.tblc.lib.fl.us/fsc/cataloging/500s.html Has anyone done anything like it already for elementary who can send it to me, so I do not have to translate the whole thing into elementary?Yes, I will post a hit if I get what I requested.
