GEN: Power of LM_NET/ B&N

Hi All,



Earlier this Fall there was a discussion of librarians being denied
Educators discount cards at Barnes   Nobles because they were NOT considered
teachers. Today I went into my local store and presented my current discount
card. I was told that it was near expiration and I had to get a new one. I was
then given a new application to fill out. In the middle of the form was a box to
check if you were a School Librarian. It appears as if someone in corporate
headquarters heard of our complaints with the offending stores.



I personally have never had a problem with B  N using my educator's
card or selecting books from the shelves for payment with my district's
corporate account. The 2 local stores are both very accommodating.
