I have been a participant in the LM-NET discussion area for several
years. The responses have always been varied and helpful. As part of a
class to complete a school library media specialist endorsement, I am
conducting a small survey to compare elements of the instructional
media programs.

What state and school district is your media center located?

What is your school population?

What percentage of your school population receives free or reduced
lunch?

Are you an endorsed media specialist?

How many years have you been a practicing media specialist?

How many years do you have in the education field?

Does your library have a fixed or flexible schedule?

Approximately, how many people utilize your media center a day?

How many workstations do you have in your media center?

To what extent is instructional technology used in your media center?

How would your information literacy program change without computers?

The following questions can be answered with an approximate percentage
of daily visitors to your media center program?
1. Use computers in the media center
2. Visiting media center as part of a planned activity with a class
3. Visits the media center as an individual seeking information for a
class project or reading material for personnel use.

Thank you for your assistance. I currently work for the Grand Rapids
Public Schools in Michigan. I am a certified teacher with 13 years
experience in our schools. I have been a practicing media specialist
for five years with one year as an instructional technology coordinator
for sixteen elementary and middle school programs. Feel free to post
your responses to the LM-Net discussion area or send the results to my
email. If you would like to receive the results of the information that
I collect, please send me an email at brindlet@grps.k12.mi.us.
