I just want make it absolutely clear that this is only *one* criteria in =
the rubric. I'll be including comprehension, interest,... These are =
students that right now have *no* sense of how to select a book they will =
enjoy.

Oh wise ones,
If a student is reading a book that is at an appropriate level for them, =
how many pages should they be able to read in a minute (assuming an =
average size book)? For example, if a student reads at a fourth grade =
level and the book is written at a fourth grade level, is it reasonable to =
assume they should be able to read two pages in two minutes (too high...too=
low...)? I need a reasonable estimate for a rubric I am creating for a =
lesson on selecting books at the right level. TIA for any help you can =
give me.
