This may also be a reflection of our law suit crazed society. Deep pockets protecting themselves in advance for something they heard "might happen." I dare say that the person behind the counter at the gas bar is not going to stop you from talking on your cell phone, but if you do and your car blows up their liability may be greatly lowered. Think I am kidding? Remember when McDonald's didn't have to label their coffee as being HOT in several languages? On the other hand, any place I can get relief from people imposing their loud, mundane, personal telephone conversations on me is a plus. By the way, did you here about the guy who won a $40 million jury award against the people he was robbing because he slipped on their front steps? And then there is this dying kid who's last wish is to receive a postcard from every town in the United States... ---- Tony Doyle, Librarian Livingston High School 1617 Main St. Livingston, CA 95334 209-358-2948 tdoyle@muhsd.k12.ca.us "You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. If this is a hoax why is it when you go to pump gas there is a warning about using your cell phone while fueling. At first I did not belive it but the other day I was at the gas station when my daughter called me on the cell phone and she asked me where I was and I said about to gas. She got so upset and told me to call her back after I pump the gas and she said look at the pump to see if there is a warning and sure enough there was. I never noticed before. If it is a hoax or not I am not talking on the cell phone while pumping gas, it will make my daughter very happy. Have a good night.
