Gen: Hardy Boys/ Nancy Drew

We're having a "dress as your favorite book character day" and our PE
teacher came in as Frank Hardy.  Wants to know if he and Nancy Drew are
cousins.  Some people here say yes, but I've done some searching and
can't find anything definite.  They were both created by the same person
so it is possible but I have to admit I never read Nancy Drew  and it's
been a LONG time since I read Hardy Boys. This may be a book/tv series
difference, I don't know.  Are there any fans who could give guidance?
