We are in the process of setting up a leveled bookroom to house our literature setsand plan to use the Fountas/Pinnell guide that categorizes with alphabet letters. I mentioned that most of my library catalogs still have grade levels on them, so we will include that information as well. Currently, the books are color-coded by grade (but not leveled). One teacher is concerned about leaving the colored tape on the spines because of the possible stigma for the students. I think it would be easier to shelve them with the colors intact. We are also discussing whether we should put the books in magazine holders, or? If any of you already have something similar in place, we would appreciate your input. Sincerely, Barbara McElfish, Librarian Mirror Lake Elementary Federal Way, Washington =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
