Gen: email glitch

My email has developed a glitch since I've been back from the holidays.
When I click on a link in an email, a new IE window opens but it is a blank
window.  The link doesn't connect.  Does anyone know how to fix that?  I
have checked the options and preferences, but that hasn't helped.
