Thank you Janis for that well written reply.

Debra, I don't expect you identify with the plight of Blacks re: the history
of this country, however if you have pride in your own heritage and culture,
why would you even consider such an offensive, nefarious idea. Don't you
believe that Blacks have the same pride in their history and culture?
Clearly you have little respect or knowledge of the role that Blacks have
played in the formation of this country; not to mention our contributions to
the history of world. I suggest that that you read the following resources
to increase your knowledge and sensitivity to this subject.

Black history is inherently American history. It cannot be denied or
trivialized.

1.The African Origin of Civilization: Myth or Reality
by Cheikh Anta Diop, Mercer Cook (Editor)

2.Stolen Legacy
by George G. M. James

3.Great Black Leaders: Ancient and Modern
by Ivan Van Sertima

4.Freedom: A Photographic History of the African American Struggle
by Manning Marable

5.Africana: The Encyclopedia of the African and African American Experience
by Kwame Anthony Appiah, Henry Louis, Jr. Gates
