I've been using the new version (beta) of the Google Toolbar
(http://toolbar.google.com/index-beta.php). It has been 100% effective
and can be taught the difference between an ad popup and a site opening
a specific new window that you want.

Does the blockig quietly and unobstrusively.

System Requirements
Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 or later
(The Popup Blocker requires Internet Explorer 5.5 or later)

Subject: OT: anti-popup software

I use Microsoft Outlook Express for mail and Internet Explorer. The
popup adds are driving me batty. This morning I got 6 (!!!) at once.
I've tried Pop-Up Stopper free download but it was freezing up my
computer and causing a multitude of problems. I discovered this by
process of elimination by opening one program at a time until I found
the one that was causing the problem.

Does anyone have a good free or inexpensive program that you are
satisfied with?
