Now it just means useless or worthless. Not quite cursing, but not
approbation either.

There is a good (deep) discussion of HPPA going on at ChildLit&Crit
(http://www.rci.rutgers.edu/~mjoseph/childlit/about.html). Archives
available also, there is a quick registration process.

Speaking of HP, does anyone out there know if the term "git" (which is
liberally sprinkled in the new book) still means child born out of
wedlock? I seem to remember the term from an old Beetles song from the
60s. The line
was:
