Library Science degee versus Education degree

1) Has anyone with and educational media degree tried
to work in a public library that required a library
science degree? Was your MEd accepted as the
equivalent of an MLS?

2) Has anyone tried to get a library science degree
after already getting an educational media degree?
Did you have to "start over"?  Or were you given
credit for similar courses?
