Tech: Help with Quick Time and Adobe GoLive 6

Please, I'm about to pull out my hair trying to download Quick Time.  I've turned 
off my firewall, tried with Netscape 7.1 and Explorer.  It appears as if everything 
has downloaded, but when I try to start the program, a message comes up that Quick 
Time has failed to initialize and I should load it properly.  This has happened at 
least five times.

I need Quick Time 5.0 to work with Adobe GoLive 6.  Although I've created other web 
pages, this new one is quite challenging, especially since it tells me each time I 
launch it that I need QT.  My laptop has QT, but its drawing program is more 
difficult to learn.

I guess my learning curve is becoming a mountain with age.  Can anyone help with 
Quick Time or GoLive?
