Ooops! I just found out that McGuffy readers were all written by this McGuffy person. They weren't selections of things other people had written. So what I'm after is not McGuffy. As I said in last post, I'm in an American history class for teachers and we will be having a recitation day. I want to find a poem or piece that was well known to students in the 1800s. Any ideas? Thanks!
