TARGET:speech dictation software

If you have any suggestions for software solution to this individual's
(resident of England) problem I would be grateful.  If you can suggest an
alternate software program or another solution, please help.  THANKS!

I have a microphone for my wife to use the IBM viavoice typing
software that I have on my computer so she can speak while the
computer types the letter for her so the software said.  Well after
reading the story it told her to read it then should be able to do
your typing for you so you sit back and just speak.  But instead it
started typing words that never come out of her mouth and instead of
helping her it just made her frustrated, does anyone know if this
software goes better in time and starts doing as it is told?or is it
just meant for the American accent as I think that is where the
software comes from but we do speak good English so I don't think
there should be a problem really.
