TARGET: Resource guide cover design needed

My summer "take-home" project is updating and revamping our Library Resource
Guide. This is a 34-page booklet that lists our library's policies,
procedures, services, videos, teacher resources, Ellison die cuts,
periodicals, puppets, and much, much more. Each teacher at our school gets a
copy, and there is always a copy on our Circulation Desk for patrons to use.
I'm looking for ideas for designing the front cover.  Our last Resource
Guide had a picture of a basket full of apples, and on each apple, there was
a general topic from the Guide listed (like: Videos, Vertical Files,
Equipment, Teacher Resources, etc.) I've put a lot of work into making this
guide functional, comprehensive, and easy to use for our teachers who "don't
have time to browse" in the library, but they love having something on paper
they can browse through whenever and wherever....so I'd like to make the
front cover as eye-catching as possible.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
