So, what about getting in touch with the professors of some of the
administrative certification courses and volunteering to come in and
talk with classes about what a good librarian can do and what a good
library program looks like? Maybe spread the word about the research
that is out there, trends in librarianship, overview of resources
available, ways we can help teachers teach to standards, etc.
Much like making sure the student teachers in the building find out
about what our library program is like so they have a better view of
what happens. Library often gets pretty short shrift in the UG/student
teacher programs also. The supervising teacher may not change or add to
it either.
