Hi Barbara and LM_Net participants:

Excuse me if I don't get this right ... although I've been reading the
LM_Net for months now, I have not entered the conversation before.

I took a very worthwhile course from James Henri (then a lecturer at
Wagga Wagga) when he came as a visiting lecturer here to the University
of British Columbia. The course was called "The Information Literate
School Community" and it was offered during the summer of 1999 following
the ISIS conference.

I have no doubts that the work being done by the people who participated
in this conference is truly the "cutting edge" in information literacy.
The ISIS site is a wonderful resource, full of valuable papers and "hot
spots" that are particularly applicable to schools developing plans for
and programs of information literacy ... but you need an access code to
get at them. Are we able to enter the site? Can you find out if the
access code could be made available now?

By the way, our "big" assignment in this ILSC course was to create a
webquest for teachers. Thanks to Val Hamilton for posting notice to
LM_Net about our recently updated "Beating the Cheating" WebQuest for
Teachers site: http://gladsstone.vsb.bc.ca/library/cheating

And thanks for any connections you can make for us to this 1999 online
conference.
